Work Stress in Teaching Community

Phenomenon of work stress in teachers has been receiving global attention and concern in recent years. Work stress has already drawn public attention and is frequently on the headlines of news. So there is a dire need to study the work stress in teachers and its causative factors. Therefore this book aims at studying the stress levels in teachers. The book also aims at finding out the major sources of teacher stress. Also as the objectives of education at school and college vary ,the needs too differ. Therefore the conditions at schools and colleges might be different. Therefore the researcher felt the need of comparing the stress levels of teachers working in schools and colleges. Further the study also aims in examining the influence of variables like gender, place of work, type of management, marital status of the teacher, age, experience, educational qualification, teaching subject etc., on work stress.
