Word prediction: A technology for learning disabled

Use of computer technology in education is on the rise. While educators employ different computer software in their classrooms with the hope of ameliorating learning problems experienced by students, the results have not been always successful. This is because there is much interplay that determines the success of computer use. Many factors need to be considered from the skills of the user, systems engineering, networking, to communication. A successful use of computers thus depend on a prerequisite skills the student has developed, the types of hardware and software used, the network hardware device and cabling and working conditions. This research demonstrates that a student computer skill may/may not be the answer technical questions and that willingness to learn may be compromised by a system that does not reflect and meet the student¿s needs.
