Women Entrepreneurial Competencies in Kandhamal and Khurda of Odisha

Right combination of environment, planning, effort and innovation results in the creation of successful new business ventures and that in turn leads to economic development. The proper amalgamation of above can only be achieved by the women entrepreneurs as they constitute about more than half of our total population. Hence, the present study has been undertaken to understand entrepreneurial competencies of women, their contribution to economic growth and entrepreneurship development in Kandhamal i.e., one of the backward districts and Khurda, one of the advanced districts in the state of Odisha. Entrepreneurial background and motivation have been analyzed to show how women entrepreneurship can be developed in these two districts by using variables like background, education, marital status, motivation and age.
