From prior research on plagiarism and scientific knowledge three hypotheses are developed: intentional plagiarism as an easy way to perform an assignment, unintentional plagiarism caused by misleading flow of digital texts, unawareness of instructions, and lack of feedback, and different identity of students, as opposed to scholars.
