What does Reading Involve?

It is high time our youth realized the immense importance of reading in the wake of ever multiplying expansion of knowledge. Reading unlocks its precious treasure. Further, reading is not only the easiest of all language skills, but also the most useful. Nevertheless, reading is a very complex mental process. The reader is expected to explore the meaning below, above and between the lines as it does not appear on the face value of words. It is expected that this book will provide such useful tips to our youth as will help them to read faster and better both in their mother-tongue and English. Once they become efficient readers, reading will become a delightful activity, opening the doors of worldwide knowledge for them. This book is founded on psycho-sociolinguistic research of proficiency (or deficiency?) of socially handicapped, culturally backward, economically depressed, linguistically deficient, simple, and credulous tribal learners ¿ exploited for centuries. It is believed that the literacy skill of reading as such can prove to be a panacea for all such weaker sections of society as the tribals, to raise their social status and help their brethren to stand on their own feet
