Western Utilitarianism in Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird

Trying to have an ethical life is one of the important demands that make everyone think about it and we cannot easily indifference to it. It is so essential and has variety of answers because different concepts of having the ethical life eventually give expand to different conceptions of what is correct and incorrect. Levinas answers it precisely on the level of the individual. For Levinas, ethic is, remarkably the connection of person to person. Specifically, through the reading of To Kill a Mockingbird within the theory of Levinas¿s ethics of Alterity we can answer this question in contact with the Other. This book focused on the Levinasian ethics of Morality. It intends to show how ethical Harper Lee¿s characters are in this novel according to Levinas¿ perspective.
