Voluntary Wearing of Face Masks among the Residents in Sitio Centro

This study examined the knowledge, attitude, and practices of the residents in Sitio Centro Pooc Talisay City, Cebu, towards the voluntary wearing of face masks. This study used a descriptive-correlational design. A researchers-made questionnaire was used in assessing the residents' knowledge, attitude, and practices towards the voluntary wearing of face masks. The study involved 30 residents. Results showed that most respondents were 25-59 years old, females with below 8,000 income, and high school graduates. This study showed that the residents are knowledgeable about the implemented voluntary wearing of face masks and rated attitudes and practices as good.

No significant relationship existed between the respondents' profiles and knowledge, attitude, and practices. However, the study showed a significant relationship between the attitude and practices of respondents toward the voluntary wearing of face masks. The Executive Order guidelines effectively shaped the respondents' knowledge, attitudes, and practices toward voluntary face mask use. They demonstrated a high level of knowledge and understanding of the importance of face mask use in protecting themselves and others. Residents' consistent use of face masks showed their commitment to public health measures and positive attitude towards the guidelines.
