Vitrification of goat oocytes and their in-vitro fertilization

Reproduction is one of the most important physiological functions of the body. All living things come from eggs, at birth a female calf has about 1,33,000 Oocytes in her ovaries. As early as 18th century, physiologist realized this fact and initiated research uncovering these wastage of female gametes thus evolved in I.V.M.F.C and cloning. In case of goat, higher number of embryos could be produced by superovulation. Continuous supply of oocyte could overcome through cryopreservation of oocytes. Concerned to various freezing techniques for the cryopreservation of oocytes, vitrification technique is simple, less costly and less time consuming. This book will give a suitable time for vitrification during oocyte maturation and evaluate the vitrification protocol by subsequent I.V.F.in goat.
