This books delves into the details of periodontal microbiology and its role in initiation as well as progression of periodontal diseases. Etiology of periodontal diseases is usually poly-microbial in nature. The book mainly deals with the role of primary and most commonly isolated bacterial species from periodontal diseases. The periopathogens produce a variety of virulence factors that contribute to their pathogenicity.
