Value Chain Analysis: Theory and Practice

This book introduces to the readers about the general information of Khayer (Acacia catechu) with its ecological and economic significance. The main emphasis and focus is on conveying theoretical and practical insights on value chain analysis, which is artistically and tactically analysed through the incorporation of 'theory of access' and 'value chain governance' by identifying chain actors, their functions and interactions, estimating cost, value added and commercialization margin distribution; examining mechanisms and structures of access and value chain governance. Additionally, it attempts to assess the prevalent production system of Khayer (Acacia catechu) and imparts knowledge in designing interventions needed for strengthening the value chain and thereby contributing to fair distribution of costs and benefits; and sustainability of production to consumption system.
