USE OF VARIABLE STIFFNESS COMPOSITES: PRESTRESSING EFFECT

This work is carried out with the aim of studying and analyzing the interfacial stresses of structures degraded by their aggressive environment or by overloads, and which are reinforced and rehabilitated by prestressed FRP composite materials. The repair solution using new composite materials applied by bonding to the outer faces of damaged structures has taken a prominent place in the field of repair and reinforcement compared to conventional methods (welding, riveting, grafting, etc.). These last techniques have proven their complexities and their limits in terms of resistance to forces and corrosion. resistance, and thus the structure can be degraded and be ruined in a partial or total way. The knowledge or the prediction of these stresses of interface plays a dominating role in the comprehension of the phenomenon of separation to avoid any damage.
