Use of Electronic Resources in IIT Libraries

The 21st century libraries vis-a-vis information centres & the Professionals find themselves at the threshold of an explosive revolution. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has revolutionised all walks of life and like any other profession, libraries are also at the threshold of this technology era. ICT has helped in reducing the size of libraries and information centers. In fact, these smaller modern libraries and information centers are rich potential of information. It has been possible due to the digitization of information. The digital and electronic information is based on digitized data/information, which has gradually replaced paper-based records. Traditional library system has been transformed into e-learning and virtual learning system. The world has entered into an era of instant communication.
