Treatment of Ozone and Different Varnish Application on Caries in Primary and Young Permanent Dentition

Ozonized olive oil which has excellent prognosis on root canal treatment in recent past and comparison done with fluoride releasing varnish which are being used in dentistry from 1960¿s as well as calcium glycerol-phosphate gel, which also proven anti-cariogenic effect.Aim- To evaluate the effectiveness of ozone and various other anti-cariogenic agents available in market and to find out potentiality of ozone as anti-cariogenic agent on young permanent and primary teeth.Methodology - Armamentarium to be used are:1. Ozone olive oil, 2. Fluoride varnish, 3. Calcium glycerol-phosphate gel. On an average 90 children to be divided into 3 groups and scaling is done then teeth are dried then 6.9-11.5mg Fluoride required to cover full dentition and applied with single tufted brush starting from proximal surface, patient made to sit 4-5 mins for setting of duraflour and advised not to eat or drink for 1 hour not to consume hard food for 1 day,similarly, for ozone varnish application on teeth and treatment evaluation repeated on 3 months, 6 months, 12 months. Medium to high risk are observed using ekstrand¿s graded scoring (2-4) clinically and radiographically.
