Treatment of Cancer by Infrared Laser and microwave hyperthermia

The photo-sensitizer drug (HPD) alone has no effect on Ehlrich tumor. The use of infrared laser IL in the frequency range (1000 ¿ 7000) Hz has an effect on that tumor which is judged by the inhibition ratio of the tumor (¿ 10 %) on using 7000 Hz IL. The infrared laser in the presence of the drug is more effective than using IL alone. Using microwave with two energy levels, 30 W and 40 W, have more effects on the inhibition ratio of the tumor than IL. Exposure to microwave in the presence of the drug is more effective than using microwave alone or infrared laser in the presence of the drug. The combination of exposure to infrared laser (7000 Hz) and 40 W microwave is more effective than all the previous mentioned effects. In case of the effects produced after using IL or MW or combination of these two modalities on the dielectric parameters need more trials and experiments to reach a considerable conclusion. However, the promising results obtained by exposure to microwave alone or in the presence of the photo-sensitizer drug, may encourage us to perform more experiments using this modality with different energy levels and longer experimental period.
