Training Manual for Mental Health Promoters in Prison

The manual to train mental health promoters in Prison has a human rights based approach. The manual focuses on key aspects of mental health, UN Standards Minimum Rules for treatment of Prisoners (The Mandela Rules), The UN Rules for the treatment of Women Prisoners and non custodial measures for women offenders (The Bankok Rules) and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (U.D.H.R.). The manual raises awareness on Human Rights, challenging stigmatism and encouraging mental health promotion for staff and prisoners. The manual encourages respecting human rights to improve mental health as conversely violations of human rights can negatively impact on mental health.
