Tobacco and Oral Health

In the recent years the fight against "Tobacco" has significantly increased globally but the prevalence of usage of Tobacco is still high mainly in developing countries. Global strategies on control of Tobacco mainly targets smoking alone not considering the other forms of Tobacco usage. Also the ill health effects of Tobacco were highlighted ignoring the oral health effects. In this review, a detailed explanation of various forms of Tobacco usage mainly in India were explained and also the ill effects of Tobacco exclusively on "Oral Health" were covered in many sub headings. A chapter on review of literature available mainly focusing on the various epidemiological studies and research.
