The Water Resources Management System in the Baixada Santista Committee

In this book, the author evaluates the Integrated Water Resources Management System in the Baixada Santista Hydrographic Basin, as well as studying water availability in the region. The main needs have been highlighted and it has been assessed where the financial resources obtained through funding from FEHIDRO - the São Paulo State Water Resources Fund - have been applied. The Integrated Water Resources Management System of the State of São Paulo is made up of instruments such as the State Plan, the Basin Plans, the granting of licences and the charging for water use. The author notes that some of the needs highlighted in the State Water Resources Plan are not met through FEHIDRO's financial resources, as it has been concluded that these are not sufficient for this purpose. Making better use of the structure set up by the Water Resources Management System will be achieved through greater integration between the members of the Committee and greater supervision of the projects contracted, avoiding delays and better investing the money made available.
