The Umayyad Conquests in the West and the Crusades in the East

The Mediterranean Basin knew a long period of war. The former owners were the Romans. The newborn power that began to appear on the political stage in the East, and that was able to take advantage of the weakness of the border civilizations, was able to take place, not because of a silk strength, but mainly because of the circumstances of the time. Besides, because of the arrival of the Muslims in the Iberian Peninsula, Europe began to take shape in order to face the new danger that Europe was facing. We can say that it was thanks to the presence of the Arabs, that Christian Europe would identify with its identity, something that would later form the Europe we know. On the other hand, without the presence of the Crusaders in the East, an economic source of primary importance would not have appeared, giving the chance to the Arab-Muslim civilization to express itself. The contact between the North of the basin with the South took place several times, often it was done peacefully, often by the sword, but in all cases there was a profit for both sides.
