After more than 50 years of armed conflict, Colombia has started a new era in 2016 with the conclusion of a comprehensive peace agreement between the FARC guerrilla and the Colombian government. This book analyzes the transitional justice aspects of the preliminary accords before the referendum. It focuses on the judicial and political aspects of the special jurisdiction for peace (Jurisdicción Especial para la Paz) as well as on the mechanisms of reconciliation and reparation. Although the final peace agreement was subject to some changes and finally ratified in November 2016, this book still offers very detailed insights into the transitional justice process in Colombia.
