THE TOXIC LEGACY

Behind the flawless facade of Switzerland lurks an abyss. A presumed suicide in the Zurich financial world is just the first domino. Inspector Marc Berger, a rough-around-the-edges analog investigator, and the brilliant hacker Elena Petrov uncover a plot that threatens the very foundations of the Swiss Confederation. «The Alpenrose Conspiracy» - a toxic legacy of old blood money, looted Nazi art, and cutting-edge cyber warfare - is relentlessly grasping for control over the country's critical infrastructure. It becomes a battle that knows no bounds: While Berger must fight for his bare survival on the streets and in the mountains against his ruthless ex-mentor, Elena finds herself forced to go to digital war against her own father - the brilliant architect of the impending chaos. But as the unlikely duo desperately tries to avert the collapse of an entire nation, an unpredictable puppet master has long been pulling the strings in the dark. An enemy who knows no scruples, and for whom destruction is merely the first move in a much larger game. Who can you trust when the system itself becomes the weapon?
