The Semantic Categorization of Metaphor in the Transfer Schema

One of the most hotly debated topics in linguistics has always been the relationship between language and mind. The publication of some fundamental works by G. Lakoff, M. Johnson, R. Gibbs and other scholars gave rise to cognitive paradigm in linguistics which includes studies into language semantics and a new approach to figurative language. The contemporary explorations of the cognitive framework may contribute to the insight of mind and the principles governing communication.
