THE ROLE OF MUSIC IN CONFLICT TRANSFORMATION

The author, Abbé Eugène Halerimana, shows his determination to write his book from its main objective, that of assessing the contribution of the message of peace of the star artists who perform at the Festival Amani through the Foyer Culturel de Goma in the transformation of conflicts in Eastern DR Congo. In order to reinforce its general objective, it presents the following specific objectives: to analyze the public's reactions to the role of the activities of the Amani Festival through the Foyer Culturel de Goma; to identify the challenges faced by the participants during the Amani Festival; to propose strategies so that the message of peace is better given and understood during the activities of the Amani Festival through the Foyer Culturel de Goma.Reading its first chapter, entitled Conceptual foundations and theoretical framework, the following paragraph caught our attention: the role of music in our traumatized societies is that of therapy. Some revolutionary music that conveys messages of peace can transform conflicts, even ideological ones that are difficult to control in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
