The Religion of Islam: the sources, principles and practices

I strongly believe that this book will be of great benefit not only to the students of religions but also, to the law students as well. However, I admit that the work of interpretation of Islam is not an easy task but I have tried my best to be objective in dealing with the various topics contained in this work. The views expressed here may not all be unanimously agreed upon, but I have always tried to support those which I thought to be harmonious with the spirit of Islam. In everyday life, there appear to be a rise in poverty, crimes, war and hatred, both within a community or society, and between societies and cultures. Often, religion has been misused as a vehicle to instigate such events even though the issues at hand have had nothing whatsoever to do with religious ideology. Religion is not the subject of the dispute or even of the grievance. Islam is the world¿s fastest growing religion and at its present rate of expansion, it will soon be the predominant religion of humankind. This is not a new or unexpected statistic, however it is something that is slowly making people re-examine their understanding of a religion of which many remain ignorant.
