The possible membership of Armenia to EU

The aims of the work are to investigate the path passed by the Republic of Armenia from the beginning of its independence towards the market economy, the current state of the progress made by Armenia on that way, the current economic relations between Armenia and the EU, the possibility of deepening those relations by economic integration. Comparative analyses of Armenian economy with one of the current candidate countries, Turkey, are done to investigate how similar is the Armenian economy with the pattern of a candidate country¿s economy. Finally, the economic potential of the South Caucasus is assessed in the light of simultaneous accession of the three republics of this region, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, to the European Union.
