This book consists of two parts: 1) A theoretical study of the application of steam injection for crude oil production has been made. The study consists of oil displacement mechanisms during steam injection, factors effecting oil recovery by steam injection, then an experimental studies and numerical models on steam injection were reviewed. 2) The practical side that represented by CMG program. This method has not applied in Iraq so that we use CMG program to simulate the injection of steam and we use the data of Buzurgan oil field because of their availability and this report treats the recovery of heavy oil by reducing the viscosity of it.
