The novels of Amitav Ghosh

This book is about Amitav Ghosh, the best Indian English novelist and story writer of our age who had won Sahitya Academy Award and also shortlisted two times for Man Booker Prize for his novels Sea of Poppies and River of Smoke. In this book I have researched his seven novels written during 1986 to 2011. All the novels are unique in itself increases the awareness of the reader about their environment and society problems. This book attempts to show Amitav Ghosh¿s contribution to the Indian English fiction as he focuses on the true quality of education in the children, women condition in Indian society, problem of poverty and illiteracy in India, modern man-woman¿s fascination for Western dresses, education and culture, orphan-children¿s problem, drugs effect in our society, language problem, caste-system in Indian society, modern man-woman relationship, human values in modern India, protection of environment, cause of alienation in India and problems faced by Diasporic people, faith of Indian people on God and his power, how ritual, rites and civilization of Indian people moralize them for doing good and also attract other Westerns'.
