The last day shift

***You have NEVER seen the Swedish police like this before...*** Police cadet Andreas Wiklundi one month from becoming a fully trained police officer; the nerves, insecurity and self-doubt are on the outside, and he does everything he can to prove himself to his instructing officers. Every job is a trial, a learning experience, a challenge, and everything he does is gathered in an assessment that will determine his entire future. It doesn't help that monsters are real. During a regular night shift, Andreas and his colleagues are dispatched to central Vällingby, where a domestic homicide has just been committed and a small girl is missing. Determined to show himself competent, Andreas finds the girl, who instantly turns into a shadowy figure with razor sharp teeth. The girl disappears, leaving Andreas unconscious, left with horrible bite marks in his neck and a growing thirst for something very forbidden. THE LAST DAY SHIFT shows the everyday life of the Stockholm police force, in a reality where strange creatures are as real as people, and follows Andreas in a double journey of evolution, where he on one hand just wants to fulfil his dream of becoming a police officer - on the other hand, he is turning into a vampire. In the background, the Police Authority has to deal with the sudden death of its most senior commissioner, while Andreas fights a different kind of demons in his personal life. Damn right it doesn't help that monsters are real.
