The land transportation in the Arab Legislation

This book examines Arab land transportation legislation to see if additional laws or bodies are required to ensure passenger safety. Road safety is a worldwide issue that is gradually becoming a key priority for most governments. According to the World Health Organization's Global Status Report on Traffic Safety for 2018, road accidents cost the lives of around 1.35 million people each year. They are the eighth largest cause of mortality for individuals of all ages, and the top cause of death for children and young adults aged 5 to 29. Despite advancements in road safety, this is the case. The Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations General Assembly include a target of 50 per cent reduction in road traffic deaths and injuries by 2020.
