Beschreibung

This book is a summary of the results of research based on several experiences. It focuses on the burning issues of the current Congolese land tenure system. In its depths, the modern Congolese land administration, by its history, conceals a single and unique origin: colonization. Through colonization, the colonists imposed an authoritarian land law that did not accommodate the aspirations of the indigenous people who, by force and despite their refusal, accepted to resign themselves to European law, which subjected the occupation of African land to particular administrative procedures. With the independence movement, the DR Congo acquired its own on 30 June 1960. Instead of the indigenous Congolese authorities rethinking land tenure in order to adapt it to indigenous contingencies, the "new colonists", purchasers of white powers, substituted themselves for the colonialists to perpetuate colonial land law, which will continue to govern the DR Congo.
