The institution of foster care in Russia

The dynamics and scope of orphanhood have become a characteristic feature of the social reality of contemporary Russian society. The family is an indispensable institution in the socialization of children, allowing them to learn the basics of role behavior in the family and society. The work considers the history of the formation and development of family forms of child placement, theoretical and methodological concepts of the study of the social essence of the institute of foster family, the main forms of family placement, their functions, characterized mechanisms of social control in the structure of the institution of foster family, and an attempt to assess the effectiveness of the institution of foster family in the modern Russian society.
