The music curriculum in Zambia has often been subjected to trial and error with models being implemented in schools without much consultation with the curriculum implementers who are the teachers. This book has been developed to highlight challenges and opinions of music teachers on the most recent changes where music has been integrated with other arts in basic schools and teacher colleges of education. The findings presented in this book suggest the need for policy makers to engage teachers in the designing of "user friendly" curricula and the need for use of locally available resources in the teaching of music.
