The Implementation of Reading Comprehension Strategy

Reading has become an integral part of human life, reading activity has turned into a necessity and requirement to be mastered by every person because reading is a media to broaden knowledge and insights. One of the key aspects of reading is ability to comprehend the meaning or information that is contained in reading text. In order to comprehend the information effectively and efficiently is required a reading strategy. DRTA strategy is one of the reading comprehension strategies that could be utilized in reading activity. Based on the research conducted in Primary School of 13 Lapongkoda revealed that DRTA strategy is effective in improving the students¿ reading comprehension. This book provides a description of DRTA strategy for improving the reading comprehension in primary school. Hence, this book could contribute thought in order to determine the appropriate learning strategy for reading comprehension, and to be a reference for the teacher to implement the learning strategy for improving the students¿ reading comprehension.
