THE IMPACT OF LEADERSHIP ON PERFORMANCE

Leadership effectiveness is a requirement for organisations not only to be successful with current undertakings, but also to be successful in the future. Outstanding organisational performance invariably map to dynamic leadership within an organisation. Furthermore, leadership effectiveness in organisational performance is often regarded as being the outcome of skilfulness rather than serendipity in management and business practices. This research study will be undertaken at a large South African corporate institution (hereafter referred to as the "target organisation") forming part of a global group who has its parent company based in Europe, and who delivers world-class quality products to customers across the globe. All production operations are managed to deliver uncompromising, optimum quality. At all its locations, the global group invests in the people who work in the company this investing in the future. The global group's personnel policy is focussed on effectiveness and quality. The wages and salaries paid by the global group falls in the top twenty five percent when compared with competitors in equivalent industries.
