THE IMPACT OF GEOLOGY AND ANTHROPOGENIC INFLUENCES ON GROUNDWATER

This book is centered on the assessment of the impact of geology and anthropogenic influences on the spatial variability of selected groundwater quality parameters in Lokoja town, Kogi State, Nigeria. This has become critical in view of the growing dependence of several world economies on groundwater for their existence and growth. Especially in view of the fact that a number of studies are already indicating serious water quality problems associated with groundwater reserves. Providing solutions today will include having a clear understanding of the spatial variability of water quality while taking cognizance of other environmental factors that may have contributed to the observed spatial spread.
