Gusen, the largest concentration camp on Austrian territory, was mostly forgotten by history until a few years ago. In the shadow of the Mauthausen Concentration Camp Memorial, survivors of Gusen and relatives of those murdered there overcame countless obstacles to build their own site of memory.
