Kuno Francke (1855 - 1930) was a German-born educator and historian. Most of his career was spent at Harvard University where he became a professor of history and German culture and curator of the Germanic Museum.
Francke edited a famous collection of German classic literature, whose first two volumes are concerned with one of the greatest German authors - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Volume 1 contains a selection of important poems - like "The Erl-King" and "Mahomet's Song" - and the both dramas "Iphigenie in Tauris" and "Faust" (part I and II).
