Astar is a young boy with no desire or confidence to make anything of himself in life. However, the death of Astar's king causes an unexpected turn of events, especially since Astar is the only witness to the murder. Driven on by a mysterious phoenix and accompanied by a boy with a peculiar fate, Astar sets off in search of the hidden land, Vanger Main.
