The family, school and play mediation

Play is a privileged activity in the promotion of children's development because it offers ways to get closer to the lived reality, making decisions, valuing and transforming the real. In this sense, the mediation of the family or the teacher, acts as a facilitator in this process, giving the opportunity to imitate what is known and build the new. The presence of a mediator in the child's learning process in early childhood education, interposes stimuli that lead the child to develop, respecting the interests and difficulties of each one. Since mediation is an element of the first relationship that is provided for the child, family members often do not perceive its mediating role in the child's development, attributing that only the school plays this role.
