The Fall

For a moment the dark wave stopped, towering ominously like the calm before the storm. With an uncontrollable shudder it collapsed, caving in on itself, thundering back towards the helpless man fastened hopelessly to the tiny, inconsequential hill.

Yesh lifted his head, his own thoughts bombarding him a million miles a minute. "This was why he was here, wasn't it?" He watched the onslaught rage closer, "To do the unthinkable? ..Catch the uncatchable?"

BOOM-the devastation tore through his hate-ravaged body.

"Here goes nothing," he grimaced, slipping quietly into the horrors of the ice-cold sludge. "Just the illegitimate son of a hard-nosed carpenter ... about to save the world."
