This trait is most evident in the case of criminal communities whose activities have become transnational, giving rise to the phenomenon of transnational organized crime. Criminal networks of this type have strong potential and high dynamism. Therefore, they pose a serious threat both to individual States and to the entire world community. This book is dedicated to analysing and assessing the effectiveness of measures taken against organized crime at the national and international levels. Unfortunately, the world community has not yet formulated an adequate strategy to combat transnational organized crime.
