The Evolution of the Social-Philosophical Concepts of M. Foucault and K. Castoriadis

Does philosophy answer the burning sociopolitical questions of our time, does it go back to the legendary past, or does it concern itself only with the future? The problems of justification of the social sciences, the question of the modern character of state and social institutions, the question of the essence of power, the state, politics, the problem of the modern status of moral and ethical rules and norms, - this is by no means a complete list of questions and problems common to social and philosophical knowledge. The task of the philosopher is to show that these questions and problems are rooted in more fundamental layers of being and thinking, and we find this connection at the intersection of such disciplines as social philosophy, philosophy of history, and history of philosophy. The philosophy of the tragic era that was the twentieth century for humanity emerged and developed in the face of two world wars, the nuclear threat, and the rise and fall of totalitarian regimes.
