The Effect of Education and Training in Promoting Breastfeeding

This handbook is to promote breastfeeding in the first hour of life, exclusive breastfeeding in the first 6 months of life, and its continuation for a period of 2 years. What is emphasized in the book are correct position of hugging and breastfeeding the infant, starting time of skin to skin contact with the baby, breastfeeding the infant in the first moments of the birth, observing exclusive breastfeeding in the first 6 months after the birth, breastfeeding times during a day, the relationship between the mother and the baby during breastfeeding in one room, mother continuing breastfeeding for two years, and avoiding artificial milk, mother's way having confidence in their ability for breastfeeding. Furthermore, reformations and changes in the attitude and behavior of hospital administrators, doctors and midwives in the baby-friendly hospitals can play a significant role in reducing infection, malnutrition and therefore, child mortality during the breastfeeding period.
