The Effect of Cancer on the Optimal Functioning of Iranian Families

Cancer can affect patients' family functioning. Implementing support programs for these patients requires identifying aspects of family life that have been disrupted after cancer. Therefore, the present study was conducted to understand the views of people with cancer and their spouses on family functioning after cancer. Cancer as a bitter reality and an important stressor is a complication that changes the course of a person's life and causes increased vulnerability and decreased quality of life alter individuals' daily functions, social activities, and ability to perform routine roles. In today's world, cancer is one of the most common causes of death and morbidity. According to the World Health Organization, the number of cancer deaths in the world will increase by 45% from 2007 to 2030. More than half of all cancers occur in developing countries.
