The education of the future

The world has changed. As a result of economic and social transformations, that 20th century view of education has lapsed. A teacher can no longer confidently predict the kinds of knowledge and skills their students will work on throughout their lives. The transmission of traditional values is no longer guaranteed. With the changes of the 21st century, educators face a radically different set of challenges. Today, we have to prepare students to work and live in a world we can only vaguely imagine. Most students entering kindergarten today are likely to work in the future in job categories not yet created. The figure of the teacher has changed a lot over the decades. They are no longer seen as someone who holds all the knowledge available in their field. Nor is it necessary for the student to spend hours in the library with a pile of books to find what they are looking for. In 21st century education, knowledge is outside the bubble.
