The Current Trends in Openness and Innovation in E-Learning

Innovations in e-learning continue at pace, including the use of social software tools that encourage peer-supported learning. This work focuses on the exploration of innovation, to discover some of the latest developments in educational communication, the growing use of data in education across the rapidly changing field of learning analytics, as well as developments in the open learning experience. It presents current debates on the concept of openness and ethical issues related to learning analytics. This work aims to use the author's knowledge and experience to provide a context for synthesizing these points of view.
