The Changing Landscape of South African Youth Identity

This work explores new attitudes and perceptions of young Black regarding their education and socio-economic setting. It exemines to where we are going, and critically analyses psycho-social forces that compel and shape us. The book is about Black youth culture. It is also dubbed as hip hop culture, it should be noted that the book is not about hip hop music rather it uses the term to deploy to the culture that is along with the influence of hip hop music and the so called ¿hood¿ movies or ¿Kasi movies¿. The spectrum of the term ¿born free¿ defines the youth born after 1994 and this includes: college students, young professionals, urban masses, informal street workers and general public of youth relating with hip hop culture.
