The 1997 Amhara Land Redistribution is the recent land redistribution implemented in one of the regional states. It was very controversial and politically motivated land redistribution. I studied the process and the socio-economic consequences of the land redistribution in general. I also examined issues like transparency, accountability, participation, justice and the reactions of the farmers during the redistribution process. This thesis research critically evaluated the effects of land redistribution policy.
