Thai and Indian economies have collaborated since 1980.

The central theme of the present thesis is to analyze the Thai India

economic co-operation from 1980 to 2004. Thailand and India has léng

history of economic cooperation and trade relation. King Asoka sent

missionaries for promotion of Buddhism in Thailand. Thailand India is the

world largest democracies. On 18 December 1871 King Chu Lalongkorn

had visited India for studying British administration system and to establish

good relationship. Deeply rooted in relationship antiquity, and deriving

strength and sustenance from centuries of continuous two ways interaction

between Thailand and India is unique. The people of the two ancient lands

have shared, through the ages, kindred faiths and beliefs, have sung similar

folklores, and have cherished and admired each other' distinct way of life.

Today, this ancient relationship is poised for a fresh renewal and a surge

forward in all domains of interaction.
