The world produces more than 200,000 tons of microcrystalline cellulose-based materials per year. Since cellulose itself does not have plasticity and cellulose esters exhibit plasticity under certain conditions, they are used to produce various fibers, films, plastics, varnishes, glues, and many other products. This monograph describes the results of scientific research conducted by the authors in 2019-2021 on the development of cellulose carbamate production technology based on local raw materials. Microcrystalline cellulose obtained from the stem of Phragmites australis (cane) growing locally, optimal conditions for modification of microcrystalline cellulose with urea in a catalyst-free method were determined, and biodegradable polymeric materials were obtained by adding the synthesized KS-20-2 cellulose carbamate sample to high-pressure polyethylene. and based on local raw materials, the technology of obtaining cellulose carbamate, which is used in the production of biodegradable films, has been developed. The monograph is intended for use by independent researchers, basic doctoral students, research interns, master's and bachelor's students.
