Technical Innovations in Bus Rapid Transit System in Lagos State

Lagos state is one of the largest cities in the world with an estimated population of 18,000,000 on a land mass of 3,577sqkm. Urban mobility, Road traffic and congestion have been major challenges in the State for many years; The Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) scheme was introduced to help ameliorate these problems. This book, evaluated different technical innovations in the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system in Lagos State and compared the outcome of the evaluation with international BRT standards. It also assessed the operational performance of the BRT system in Lagos state. This book, therefore, recommends policy measures that may encourage the operational performance of the BRT system in Lagos State in order to compare well with what is obtainable internationally.
